South Worcestershire Building Control Partnership will be amending their Scheme for the Recovery of Building Regulation Charges from 01 April 2026. A copy of the scheme can be requested by contacting building control directly, (after 01 April 2026).

Online Planning Portal (Service charge)

Access to Planning Portal

Online portal submission is delivered externally by PortalPlanQuest Ltd via the Planning Portal website and you will need to register an account. Submission via the Planning Portal will generate a service charge imposed by the supplier. Benefits submitting your building control applications via the Planning Portal:-

Please be aware that your application fee will be calculated automatically based on the information you provide. Payment will be required within the application. If you are an agent/architect/builder submitting the application on behalf of your client who is responsible for payment or wish to discuss our fees please contact us before starting your online application.

Charges

Charges are payable for work undertaken by the Building Control Service in relation to Building Regulation applications.

There are three types of charges, depending on the type of work you wish to do.

Building Safety Regulator (BSR) charges

Upon the introduction of The Building Safety Act 2022, the government established the Building Safety Regulator (BSR) to secure the safety of people in and around buildings and improve building standards in high rise buildings (buildings with 7 or more storeys, or that are 18 metres or higher, and have at least 2 residential units, or are hospitals or care homes, during design and construction).

To support the BSR in determining compliance with building regulations, we will charge the BSR £60.12 per hour. This rate has been approved by our Section 151 officer. This will allow us to recover costs in full and will be reviewed on a regular basis

Any plans etc to be submitted are accepted in PDF format only and size allowance is only up to 10MB

How to Pay

By Cheque

Payment made by cheques should be made payable to the Local Authority where the proposed work address is located either:
